Piolet Traction

Piolet-Traction is the meeting ground of the dancer and improviser Stefania Petracca (ITA-GER) and free-improv cellist Rémy Bélanger de Beauport (CAN-GER). Together, they create pieces where movement and sound combine to transcend transitional dance-music forms.

The name “Piolet-Traction” comes from an ice-climbing world not so far away from the slippery edges of duo improvisation. With the piolet-traction technique, the climber confronts the wall head on and rises above, discovering new routes in vertical declives.
